Our Story

Paula’s story

Dave and I met at the tender, impressionable age of 15. We were in high school and were introduced by a mutual buddy of ours at my locker. Dave said something witty and immature. As I am the very epitome of maturity, it was total, utter & irrevocable friendship at first sight. I thought he was funny, and that was about it. Over the next few years Dave became a permanent face in our group, slowly worming his way into our tight circle of awesome friends. After leaving home for college, Dave became my go-to-guy for a fun night out, a daytime hang-out and a great person to skip class and eat ice cream with.
He quickly became my best friend, spending many nights sleeping on the sofa in Marie’s & I’s cozy Pointe-St-Charles apartment. In spite of his stinky feet, I spent many moments wondering if our friendship could turn into more and even confessed that I had a crush on him after one evening of “light” cocktails. He said nothing.
Years later, my life was turned upside down by a big breakup and the loss of my first “real” job. I moved into an apartment down the road from my good friend Dave, since he has always been such a solid, fun and silly presence in my life. We began spending more time together and inevitably 9 months later...................we were inseparable, dating and living in sin :)
I knew right away that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him (and even managed to keep that to myself for about 6 months!) Now, almost 3 years later we are planning the happiest day of our lives thus far; our wedding.

Dave's Story

I met Paula when I was in high school at around 16 years old. She was pretty, had a sweet smile and was so nice to everybody. Like many boys she would meet, I quickly developed a crush on her. Unfortunately teenagehood was unkind to me. I was built like a pimply rake at the time. Regardless we became close friends. Over the years I became increasingly handsome and attracted the attention of many females who found my sense of humor coupled with my exceptional guitar shredding skills to be irresistible. Every time I attempted to indulge a girl with a date I found it impossible not to compare her to Paula. Of the scores of women I dated, not one compared to Paula. I decided there was no point in fighting it more - I knew what had to be done.
In the spring of 2009 I was ready. I knew that seducing Paula wouldn't prove to be too difficult. I asked her out on a date. She eagerly accepted. After our date, I held her hand, peered into her soul and informed her that she would be my wife one day. She was understandably overcome with joy. We dated for 2.5 years and it was wonderful. Everyday for 2.5 years, Paula demanded that I propose to her. One evening near Thanksgiving day I made her the happiest person in the world by presenting her with a ring. And that is our story. Or did we get drunk and hook up? I can't quite recall...
